Ecolink Introduces First Certified Z-Wave® Long Range Product
The Ecolink Long Range Garage Controller adds remote status and operating capability to most legacy garage door operators. The Controller is the first Z-Wave long-range product certified by the Z-wave Alliance, providing up to 2200 feet of line-of-site communications between the Controller and a paired Z-Wave long-range enabled panel or hub* inside the home. The Controller is also compatible with classic Z-Wave 300, 500 and 700 series panels*.

The garage door is the first layer of security for most homes and leaving a garage door open for even a short time gives a full view of the layout of the garage and how an intruder can get into the home and thieves can swipe bicycles, lawnmowers, and power tools in just the time it took the homeowner to go inside for a drink of water.
The Ecolink Z-Wave Long Range Garage Controller mounts easily to the existing “L” bracket and connects directly to the garage door operator, enabling communication with the security panel via Z-Wave. This provides the homeowner remote access and control of the garage door including enabling the user to open and close their garage door using their security panel, this provides an extra layer of protection and peace of mind. The Ecolink Z-Wave LR Garage Controller comes with a tilt sensor that will transmit the door state (open/closed) to Z-Wave panels and hubs.
About Z-Wave Long Range
Prior to Z-Wave Long Range, multiple signal repeaters were required to be installed within a network to achieve transmission distance beyond the boundaries of the home. Z-Wave Long Range eliminates the need for these repeaters, unlocking new potential for Z-Wave networks. Now more than ever this makes it easier to enroll smart home and IoT devices deployed at the edge of the network.
